Degree and area of specialization:
PhD in Physics, Engineering Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Electrical Engineering--or a closely related field with a focus on high-temperature plasma physics.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Candidates excelling in experimental high-temperature plasma physics, plasma-material interaction, plasma diagnostics, plasma control, and fusion magnetic confinement systems are sought.
Principal duties:
Teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate courses; supervising graduate student research; developing and directing a strong funded research program; participating in departmental and university faculty governance; and contributing to professional and public service.
A criminal background check will be conducted prior to hiring.
