Well qualified applicants will have demonstrated high quality research with publications in top tier journals, and will have demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching.

Candidate with new or anticipated Ph.D. degrees will have research under way that is likely to result in one or more publications in top tier journals, and will have presentation skills that suggest future excellence in teaching.

Candidates for tenure rank will possess academic credentials to qualify for a tenured faculty appointment at UW-Madison.

Preferred to hold or be working towards credentials in CAS, SOA or both.
  Position Summary:
 Current faculty focus their research efforts on empirical and analytic solutions to individual and corporate decision-making problems that are routinely encountered in insurance, actuarial science, and health care; we seek individuals whose research will complement and provide synergies with the current faculty research agenda. Faculty in this position will conduct scholarly research that compliments in these related areas, teach graduate and undergraduate students in Actuarial Science/Risk Management & Insurance or related field at the Wisconsin School of Business, and would be performing university service.

The Actuarial Science, Risk Management and Insurance program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is one of the oldest in the country, dating back to the 1930s. We are proud to be ranked among the best of all programs in both actuarial science and risk management and insurance, both from a curricular and research perspective. We are also proud to be part of a great university with excellent resources available to both faculty and students. The Wisconsin School of Business offers degrees in actuarial science and risk management and insurance at the undergraduate, master's in RMI, and PhD level. We also have a Capstone Certificate Program in Actuarial Science targeted to post-graduate students. The School currently enrolls approximately 2000 undergraduates (sophomore/junior/senior level), 400 masters, and 80 PhD students.

-Create and maintain a strong program of research
-Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Wisconsin School of Business
-Provide classroom and individual instruction for undergraduate and graduate degree-seeking students
-Contribute to the intellectual and academic life of the department. University and community service will be expected as appropriate.
