PhD in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, population health sciences, neuroscience, psychometrics or related discipline required. New PhD graduates are encouraged to apply.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
1+ years of post-doctoral experience in research in aging, epidemiology, biostatistics, neuropsychology, Alzheimer's disease and dementia research, or other comparable area strongly preferred.

The incumbent should possess strong expertise in classical and modern biostatistical methods that are applicable to measuring psychometric and biological variables in a longitudinal framework and strong working knowledge of statistics software SAS or R. It is preferred that the incumbent have the ability to conceive of a set of hypotheses, select the requisite methods to test the hypotheses, make appropriate conclusions about the results, and present the findings in published manuscripts and at scientific meetings. As the setting is highly collaborative and multi-disciplinary, it is preferred that the incumbent be able to work within an extended team and bring quantitative expertise and advice to collaborative initiatives. Experience in grant proposal writing is preferred. Expertise with psychometric theory and methods, in factors influencing cognitive performance is preferred.

Title prefix will be determined based on years of relevant professional work experience.
  Position Summary:
 The Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) conducts research in the field of aging and dementia, and seeks to establish effective prevention, diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease. The incumbent will serve as a full-time Scientist for Dr. Cynthia Carlsson within the ADRC conducting statistical analysis of cutting-edge clinical studies on AD and related disorders to address significant public health and clinical research questions involving psychometric, health, and biological outcomes. The incumbent will collaborate with team members in the design, implementation, analysis, and reporting of clinical studies investigating the impact of vascular risk factors on regional cerebral blood flow, cognitive function and CSF biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease. The incumbent will be expected to write manuscripts and abstracts summarizing study findings and present these findings at national and international meetings on aging and dementia. In addition, the incumbent will be expected work closely with Dr. Carlsson's research team to facilitate completion of pre-defined analyses in addition to working independently on their own areas of interest.
Principal duties:
- Design, implement, analyze, and report on clinical studies, while collaborating with others. Incumbent will be expected to make independent, high-level contributions to these efforts and assist in oversight and guidance of other staff, students, and trainees.
- Write manuscripts and abstracts summarizing study findings and present these findings at national and international meetings.
- Work closely with research team to facilitate completion of pre-defined analyses in addition to working independently on own areas of interest.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
  Additional Information
 Strong interpersonal skills and the willingness to present research are a necessity. Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically in written and verbal forms with research sponsors, faculty, researchers, and staff at all levels required. Knowledge of University administrative policies and procedures as well as federal human subjects protection regulations highly desirable.
