Position Summary:
This position will work in the Survey of the Health of Wisconsin (SHOW) research program in the Department of Population Health Sciences in the School of Medicine & Public Health at UW-Madison. The SHOW program collects data on a broad set of health determinants and aims to build the infrastructure to support ongoing data collection, follow-up surveys, and support community action and translational research efforts for both community partners and faculty researchers in the school.

The overall goal of this position is to support the SHOW program's communication, social media and outreach efforts. This includes (1) effectively marketing SHOW's services to academic researchers to increase use of the SHOW data and the SHOW infrastructure for grants and research studies (through the website, social media, presentations and meetings), (2) Maintaining good relations and participation among the SHOW cohort through continued communication updates, newsletters, and recruitment opportunities, and (3) continue to expand SHOW's reach via ancillary studies with external researchers, organization and communities.

Principal duties:
40% Development of Communication Strategies and Generating Written Materials
Develop, write and design outreach communication and media materials for study recruitment, dissemination of results, and general updates for the SHOW program, as well as for community and academic public health partners, including but not limited to:
- Dissemination materials: including reports, manuscripts, newsletters, factsheets
- Recruitment & update materials: flyers, letters, emails, postcards, infographics, brochures

30% Promotion of SHOW through media communications
Maintain and update the website with content - spotlights, news, data, findings and resources, as well as design and usability. Manage Twitter and Facebook social media accounts with the goals of broadening SHOW's reach and viewership. Track and report on the website, website forms to access data and consultation meetings, and social media likes and retweets and followers.

15% Promotion of SHOW through targeted outreach and presentations
Market SHOW's services by presenting at departmental and academic seminars and conferences. Perform targeted outreach to specific research groups, investigators who may be interested in SHOW services. Seek out grant and collaboration opportunities to share with interested or potential collaborators.

10% Tracking and reporting of publications, consultations, and presentations. Schedule (and take notes during) scientific advisory board meetings and ancillary meetings.

5% Perform additional research study activities and duties as necessary.
