Position Summary:
PBS Wisconsin Education's Education History Producer develops and produces classroom media for upper elementary and middle school social studies, local history and culture, and English Language Arts studies. This position brings historical inquiry skills to life in multiple formats, including writing, animation, video, and other media. This position works with colleagues across the educational ecosystem to ensure that the content we create is aligned with educational standards in use in Wisconsin, and works with advisors to ensure that the content is accurate and inclusive. This position also supports a program that reaches high school students across the state producing their own local history content. This position reports to the Executive Producer of Education.

Principal duties:
-Produces educational content for grades 3-8. May include identifying topics, themes, and/or learning goals, conducting research and interviews, writing scripts, writing books or other text materials for young learners, developing interactives, producing animations or videos, and creating or securing media assets.
-Collaborates with other content creators in pre- to post-production processes, including work with illustrators, animators, designers, web developers, videographers, editors, and others. Prepares materials for digital and/or broadcast publications.
-Maintains familiarity with applicable technology and workflows for production.
-Supports local history content production efforts with students and educators in schools across Wisconsin.
-Ensures that content is state standards-aligned and is co-developed with state educators and advisors.
