Position Summary:
The Administrative Specialist is responsible for a variety of professional level work across a variety of administrative service areas including budget, finance, procurement, and human resources with impact across the institution in support of unit or institutional goals.

The Center for Human Genomics and Precision Medicine (CHGPM) at the School of Medicine and Public Health, is leading a large-scale expansion of the University's activities in applied genomics and precision medicine. The CHGPM's application of genome sciences to clinical medicine encompasses basic, translational and clinical research as well as educational activities and community outreach. The Administrative Specialist will be a primary member of the CHGPM administrative team under the Assistant Director. The Administrative Specialist will also provide support for the faculty and center staff with various projects to develop, implement, and enhance research and education processes and activities in the center. They will also consistently exercise courtesy, accuracy, professionalism, and maintain a welcoming atmosphere in our developing center.

Principal duties:
Job Responsibilities:

- Implements and executes established policies and procedures for a designated work unit to adhere to unit objectives and to align with established strategies (30%)
- Schedules logistics and secures resources for a designated work unit to contribute to the day-to-day operational success (30%)
- Analyzes data and trends, compiles progress reports, and provides appropriate recommendations or conclusions in support of the assigned operational work unit(s) (10%)
- Assists, recommends, and advises staff on unit or program administrative and budgetary tasks (5%)
- Serves on committees and attends meetings, representing the interests of the unit or program (5%)

Unique Responsibilities:

- Serve as resource to CHGPM faculty and lab staff on facility services and shared equipment (20%)


- Maintain standing orders
- Create and maintain spreadsheets and shared folders
- Manage onboarding process for new staff
- Oversee service contracts/agreements for shared lab equipment
- Assign and maintain Center facilities access
