Position Summary:
The Nanoscale Fabrication Center (NFC) supports a broad range of research by students, staff, and faculty and industrial clients with interests in micro and nano fabrication and device development.

Principal duties:
This position's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Maintenance, repair, and operation of fabrication equipment in the clean room. Maintenance of fabrication tools will be performed independently by the candidate and in close collaboration with field service engineers assigned to particular tools, as the case requires. The candidate will be expected to assist students and other researchers in all areas of tool use and process development for common NFC applications. (25%)

- Interaction with researchers in the Center. The position will be responsible for developing documentation and training materials for the proper use of micro and nano fabrication systems. The positon will be responsible to training new users on the proper operation fabrication tools. The position will teach proper protocols including safety and clean room etiquette. The candidate will write standard operating procedures and train students in the use of specific microfabrication tools and processes. (60%)

- The candidate will be expected to assist students and other researchers in all areas of tool use and process development for common NFC applications. (10%)

- Interaction with the lead PI groups and the lab manager to identify research trends and new tools for the fab. The candidate will advise researchers, industrial and academic scientists, and faculty in developing or acquiring tools and may participate in the preparation of grant and contract proposals. (5%)
