Position Summary:
The Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) conducts research in the field of aging and dementia, and seeks to establish effective prevention, diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD). A Research Specialist is needed to coordinate research study visits involving cognitively healthy adults and those with memory impairments within the center.

Principal duties:
(70%) - Coordination of study visits for participants within the ADRC. Study visit procedures will include obtaining informed consent, collection of medical and health histories, conducting memory assessments and completing questionnaires with the participants. The incumbent will also assist with biomarker visits which include escorting the participant to and from MRI scans and coordinating visits that include lumbar punctures. Post study visit procedures include any follow up that is required for our participants as well as completion of billing and other paperwork procedures.

(15%) - Management of accurate data collection and submission is a necessary aspect of this position. The incumbent will ensure accuracy in all data that is collected. They will follow up on any questions with regards to the data and will manage all queries that result once the data is uploaded into our data management system. They will also ensure the harmonization of the data that is collected across different systems in a timely manner.

(10%) - Ensure the integrity of the study protocol. The research specialist will know all aspects of the study protocol and will ensure that all procedures are followed as described. This includes determining eligibility and ensuring safety of our participants, as well as ensuring that all required procedures are completed and data points are collected. The incumbent will work with the study team and program manager to maintain efficiency and accuracy of the study visits.

(5%) - Assist with recruitment of study participants, prepare IRB submissions, disseminate research information to the general public, participate and assist in organization of community meetings and lectures to recruit participants.

Incumbent will be expected to perform other related duties as assigned and maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.
