Position Summary:
The Radiation Oncology Physics Administrative Assistant in the Department of Human Oncology, working under limited supervision, provides comprehensive administrative support for the Director of Radiation Oncology Physics and supplemental support and management to the faculty comprising the rest of the Physics Section in the department. Administrative Management Support includes: acting as the main liaison for the Section which includes the Physics Residency Program and meetings for the Section via written and faxed correspondence, telephone and email with faculty, staff, students, outside contacts and other resources as necessary. The position will also provide administrative and technical support for grant management activities. In addition, the position will maintain the Director's calendar, process fiscal requests and data; arrange and coordinate itineraries and travel arrangements for guest speakers or interviewees; complete faculty travel expense reports and purchase reimbursements; manage the radiation safety badge program for all Section clinic staff at the CSC; and assist with Physics Section clinical scheduling. Office support includes independent composition of all correspondence; maintaining files of program related data; developing presentations; ordering items for research purposes; and scheduling space for courses and academic activities of the Director and Section faculty.

This position requires daily interaction with faculty and staff within the Section, Department and persons external to the Department (e.g., UW School of Medicine and Public Health personnel; UW Hospital and Clinics Administration; UW Medical Foundation; financial, research and clinic administrators; and outside physicians, scientists and visitors). This position is responsible for the smooth workflow of the Section to assure completion of diverse, patient-related teaching, research, the administrative and professional activities of the Director and Section faculty and staff. This position independently coordinates, manages and completes multiple and complex ongoing activities. Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with limited supervision to manage diverse situations and resolve problems. This position must show confidentiality regarding all written or oral interactions and information.
