Position Summary:
The Research Specialist will be a member of Dr. Randy Brown's PROTEA research team. The applicant will be working directly with study team members and research subjects. Current projects include human subjects research involving patients with diagnoses such as opioid use disorder, major depressive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Projects include both industry-sponsored clinical trials and Investigator-initiated trials. Some projects may involve the use of novel, investigational treatments. The Research Specialist will primarily be responsible for scheduling and conducting study visits, data collection, and follow up with study participants.

Develops, designs, and conducts one or more research projects and organizes daily operation of projects and specialized research areas to ensure work meets established objectives under moderate supervision. Will be in close communication with research participant, grant sponsors, and staff of the PROTEA team to ensure correct implementation of study protocol.

Principal duties:
- Conducts research experiments according to established research protocols with moderate impact to the project(s). Collects data and monitors test results.
- Recruit study participants and manage their study participation, including scheduling visits, obtaining informed consent, enrollment, data collection and quality monitoring, and monitoring of study sessions for consistency.
- Operates, cleans, and maintains organization of research equipment and research area. Tracks inventory levels and places replenishment orders.
- Reviews, analyzes, and interprets data and/or documents results for presentations and/or reporting to internal and external audiences
- Participates in the development, interpretation, and implementation of research methodology and materials.
- Provides operational guidance on day-to-day activities of unit or program staff
- Performs literature reviews and writes reports and collaborates on presentations related to team research
- Collaborates closely with other research specialists and lab staff to ensure oversight of all research studies
