Position Vacancy Listing

PVL # 228932

Position Summary:
The mission of the University of Wisconsin (UW) Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) is to find ways to identify Alzheimer's disease (AD) and other dementias early so we can prevent and treat the disease before symptoms occur. Military Veterans have unique risk factors that increase their risk of developing dementia. In this new position, the coordinator will serve as a research advocate with the ADRC to empower and encourage Veterans to engage in dementia research. The coordinator will work closely with the UW ADRC, VA Research Office, VA clinical dementia program leads, the VA Geriatric Research, Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) and will participate monthly in national virtual meetings with National Institute on Aging (NIA) and VA leadership and ADRC Veteran recruitment coordinators from other institutions across the US. In addition, the study coordinator will work closely with ADRC researchers to ensure that research study visits and processes are sensitive to Veteran experiences and needs.

The School of Medicine and Public Health has a deep and profound commitment to diversity both as an end in itself but, also as a valuable means for eliminating health disparities. As such, we strongly encourage applications from candidates who foster and promote the values of diversity and inclusion.
