Position Summary:
The University of Wisconsin-Madison Research Animal Resources and Compliance (RARC) unit invites applications for the position of Research Animal Veterinarian. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position reporting to the Chief Campus Veterinarian.

Principal duties:
Responsibilities include:
- providing clinical care to a wide range of research animal species;
- serving on at least one Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC);
- assisting faculty and investigative staff with development of research models and research use protocol forms;
- assisting in training programs for investigators, research staff, and animal care staff;
- assisting units in maintaining Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC) accreditation;
- providing surgical and post-operative care to research animals;
- providing technical guidance to researchers and animal care units.

Primary duties include:
- programmatic and clinical service to the School of Medicine and Public Health, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education, College of Letters and Sciences, and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
- duties will include on-call service to the other research animal facilities on the UW-Madison campus.
