Position Summary:
The Department of Human Oncology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking applicants for the Bentson and Wolfe Fellowships (translational cancer research training) in Radiation Oncology to commence in the summer of 2021.

Principal duties:
Bentson Laboratory Research Fellows will function primarily in the laboratory and translational research settings. They will have direct involvement in many or all of the following activities, all under the supervision of UW faculty mentors.

1. Participation in cancer research seminar series and lab meetings.
2. Formal coursework in Research Ethics, Biostats, Research Design.
3. Performance of basic cancer research studies in the laboratory setting.
4. Design, execution and analysis of laboratory experimental work.
5. Advancement of new laboratory assays and techniques for cancer research.
6. Design and writing of grant applications for cancer research funding.
7. Participate as a speaker in laboratory research seminar settings.
8. Manuscript preparation summarizing laboratory research study results.
9. Participation in Scientific Writing and Grant Writing Workshops.
10. Preparation of 6-month progress reports summarizing productivity.
