PVL # 227661

Position Summary:
The Lo Sardo Lab seeks a Research Technician to support studies focused on the functional impact of cardiovascular genetic risk factors on vascular cells. The Lo Sardo Lab uses induced pluripotent stem cells, vascular cell differentiation, and various molecular biology and biochemistry techniques to understand how common genetic variants can affect an individual's risk of developing cardiovascular disease. This position's experimental duties will include work with cell culture, primarily human induced pluripotent stem cells, and use molecular biology, microscopy, and biochemistry. The lab is looking for a very motivated candidate to help launch a new lab.

The School of Medicine and Public Health has a deep and profound commitment to diversity both as an end in itself but also as a valuable means for eliminating health disparities. As such, we strongly encourage applications from candidates who foster and promote the values of diversity and inclusion.

Principal duties:
Under the direction of Dr. Lo Sardo, the research intern will perform research related to understanding genetic risk factor in cardiovascular disease. A highly motivated individual will provide technical support for the Lo Sardo lab and will have the ability to carry out projects on their own. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the laboratory's research program to study cellular and molecular mechanisms regulating vascular physiology.
