Position Summary:
This position will assist with the research conducted in the Bruno Balke Biodynamics Laboratory. The main responsibility associated with this position is the coordination and administration of human studies focusing on blood flow regulation. The associate research specialist will assist the primary research specialist and specifically be responsible for coordination of training of students and staff, maintaining IRB compliance documents, and execution of data collection and analysis for 2 specific projects. Much of the training can be done in the virtual environment with the eventual transition to in-person activities.

Principal duties:
This position will assist with the research conducted in the Bruno Balke Biodynamics Laboratory. The main responsibility associated with this position is the coordination and administration of human studies focusing on blood flow regulation. Duties will include but are not limited to:

- Learning, troubleshooting, and problem solving tasks with research software
- Ability to be self-motivated, to prioritize effectively and achieve deadlines
- Maintain regular communication with the research staff and personnel
- Recruit and identify potential study participants and verify eligibility. The selected candidate will interact and communicate frequently with research participants
- Assist with the development of IRB protocols and secure IRB approval
- Protocol Management
o Monitor, distribute and update protocols as needed
o Keeping current, accurate and detailed records and protocols
o Provide documentation to meet regulatory requirements
- Laboratory Management
o Laboratory management including ordering and maintaining laboratory supply stocks, maintaining laboratory safety requirements, oversight of undergraduate students and other laboratory trainees.
o Participate, direct and monitor research activities including data collection, evaluation and analysis.
o Operate, clean and maintain organization of research equipment and research area
- Other duties as assigned to support research.
