Position Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Dean for Admissions and Financial Aid at the UW Law School, this position assists in student counseling, recruitment, outreach, event planning and communications.

Principal duties:
Student Counseling:
Counsel prospective and admitted students seeking information about the admissions and financial aid processes. Serve as the first point of contact for office constituents, answering inquiries received on the office phone line and at the office email address. Answer questions about admissions standards and the application process, referring to other professionals where appropriate. Demonstrate an understanding of and sensitivity toward our admissions priorities, such as diversity and inclusion

Student Recruitment and Outreach:
Assist the Admissions Office in on- and off-site recruitment. Attend on- and off-site recruitment events to speak with constituents about law school admissions standards and the application process, paying particular attention to our admissions priorities including diversity and inclusion. Plan and coordinate on-site admissions visits from prospective and admitted students. Manage the off-site recruitment calendar, and all related mailings of admissions materials to recruitment events.

Admissions Event Planning:
Assist the Admissions Office in planning major office events, including Open House, Admitted Students Weekend, the Pre-Law Diversity Conference, and others.

Applicant File Review:
Assist in processing and review of files submitted for various programs.

Communications and Marketing:
In concert with admissions colleagues, review and edit admissions publications and communications. Provide input for content and design of admissions publications and website.

Admissions Office Management:
Prepare outgoing mail, and open and distribute incoming mail. Maintain office files. Order office supplies and recruiting materials. Assist Admissions colleagues with a wide variety of projects and tasks including assisting with JD file processing, posting scholarships, and other projects as assigned.
