Position Summary:
The candidate will be responsible for facilitating the research program of Dr. Sara McCoy in the Department of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology. Dr. McCoy's research focuses on the pathophysiology of Sjogren's syndrome, a systemic autoimmune disease with no available disease modifying therapies. The candidate will work with Dr. McCoy and other laboratory members within the Galipeau lab to conduct high quality research with the ultimate goal of improving human health.

Principal duties:
Specific duties include:

1. Providing technical expertise and problem solving in the conduct of research in the McCoy lab. This will include assisting the PI in experimental design, and performing and analyzing experiments using molecular biology techniques, ELISA, western blotting, cell culture, flow cytometry, immunostaining, microscopy, PCR, experiments with mice, and human tissues.

2. Keeping current, accurate, and detailed records and protocols.

3. Assisting Dr. McCoy with lab management duties such as maintaining inventory lists, ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment, writing and updating research protocols, and similar activities.

4. Supervising one undergraduate research assistant or other trainee.

5. Performing other duties as assigned to support Dr. McCoy's research program.
