30% Website content management - Make the SCMRC website as a communication tool for a variety of purposes/audiences including SCRMC members, campus community and public. - Oversee content management of SCRMC web site, including reviewing new content to assure quality and consistency. - Work with SCMRC members and staff to enhance current web content areas and/or develop new site areas. - Write and edit content for website. Add new content to website as needed. - Provide creative leadership regarding web site design and content and implement design decisions as needed. - Answer or triage questions received via the web site. - Work with SCRMC administration specialist to maintain updated content on meetings, seminars, etc.
20% Maintain SCRMC social media presence - Develop, implement and manage the center's social media strategy - Update and post content to the center's social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
30% Manage the development, production, and distribution of assorted educational/promotional and outreach communication vehicles for SCRMC (i.e., annual reports, brochures, newsletters, presentations, and activities.). - Write and/or edit content. - Publish the document using Adobe InDesign, including creating/finding necessary artwork. - Manage production and approval process through project completion, including coordinating with DoIT Printing. - Consult and coordinate with SCRMC and UW Foundation for distribution. - Develop outreach pipelines, activities, and materials for public education about center research and clinical activities - Maintain shared resource files and photos on file server - Order and maintain supplies as necessary for communication and outreach functions of SCRMC
10% Engage in media and outreach relations for SCRMC. - Triage media inquiries, including determining deadlines and obtaining angle of story from the reporter. - Facilitate media interviews, including obtaining background material and subject consent. - Facilitate center's engagement and partnership with public outreach activities. - Work with SCRMC scientists to identify and publicize high impact, newsworthy activities. - Write/develop fact sheets, backgrounders, etc. for reporters. - Contribute stories to UW-Madison media vehicles (i.e., Wisconsin Week).
10% Perform other duties as assigned - Represent SCRMC at various local and national meetings - Assist administration specialist with needed operations tasks
