Job Summary:Under general supervision of the Assistant Department Administrator within the Department of Emergency Medicine, this position is responsible for performing administrative assistance and coordination of faculty compliance, academic affairs and human resources support.

The DEM Personnel Administrative Assistant is responsible for the coordination of a wide variety of program activities, including credentialing, onboarding efforts and compliance with UWHC and UWMF during the hiring process. Additional responsibilities include: administrative assistance in the maintenance of Department human resources and related records, tracking and monitoring systems required by the Department, School, University Medical Foundation (UWMF), University Hospital and Clinics (UWHC), University of Wisconsin (UW), Veterans Administration Hospital (VAH), licensing and credentialing, and other activities as assigned.

This position requires an understanding of roles, responsibilities, and programs throughout the Department, SMPH, UW Hospital, UWMF, VAH and UW settings.

This position reports to the Assistant Department Administrator and also receives direction from the Department Chair, and the HR Business Partner from the SMPH Dean's Office.

Requirements:A Criminal Background Check Will Be Conducted
A Probationary Period will be Required

Bachelor's degree preferred.

1-2 years of previous experience in human resources related activities required.

Experience in an academic medical setting strongly preferred.

Ability to excel at managing diverse responsibilities in a fast paced, high volume environment with firm deadlines preferred.
