Grievances—Academic staff members are encouraged to first attempt to resolve employment problems informally. If informal attempts at resolution fail or if the academic staff member believes that informal resolution would not be productive, grievance procedures are available. Chapter 7 of the Academic Staff Policies and Procedures (ASPP) provides some resources that may be helpful in resolving problems informally, as well as the grievance process.

Complaints—The procedures to be followed in the event a complaint is submitted against an academic staff member is described in Chapter 8 of the Academic Staff Policies and Procedures (ASPP).

Discrimination/Harassment Complaints - Academic staff members may file informal or formal complaints alleging discrimination or harassment with the Office for Equity and Diversity (http://oed.wisc.edu/).
