Introduction to CHRIS

Logging On

Where and how you access the CHRIS system depends on your role in the position description creation, submittal and approval process.

A. If you are new to the CHRIS system, you may first want to see Getting Started for general step-by-step instructions for using the system.

B. Supervisors and their designees must go to: Links for OHR Information Systems and select CHRIS (for PC or MAC) ; then follow the logon instructions for supervisors below.

C. Human Resources staff must go to: Links for OHR Information Systems and select CHRIS-HR (for PC or MAC) ; then follow the logon instructions for HR staff below.

1. Logon Screen for Supervisors and Their Designees

NOTE:  CHRIS-HR users will not enter through this screen.

Logon Name  - If not a new user, enter the logon name you created for the CHRIS system. 

Password - Enter your password that is associated with your Logon Name.

New User? - Press this button if this is your first time accessing CHRIS.  It will take you to the Profile screen to create a new Profile just for the CHRIS system.

Forgot Your Password? - Enter your logon name and press this button if you forgot you password.  It will display the Clue you entered in your profile to help you remember your password.

Logon - If not a new user, press this button after you have entered your logon name and password. After successful logon, the CHRIS Main Menu screen will display.

2. Forgot Password Screen

Clue - Not Enterable.  Displays the clue you specified to help you remember your password. 

Return To Logon - Press button to return you to the Logon screen.

Email My Password - Press button if the clue didn't help you remember your password.  This will email your password to the email address that was specified in your profile.

 

3. The CHRIS Main Menu for Supervisors and Their Designees

New Transaction - Press button to go to a new HR Transaction screen according to the HR Transaction Type selected.

Copy from Existing Transaction - Press button to go to the Search Results screen and allows you to find which existing Transaction you would like to copy to create an HR Transaction of the type selected. After the Transaction to copy is found, press the copy button on the Search Results screen to start the copy process.

Tran ID - Enter the Transaction ID that you would like to view or edit.

Edit HR Tran- Press button to go to the HR Transaction screen for the entered Transaction ID in Edit mode. You can only edit those you created or are proxied to you and are not yet submitted. You can edit applicant data for an LTE transaction if it was originally submitted without an applicant.

View HR Tran - Press button to go to the HR Transaction screen for the entered Transaction ID in View mode.

List My Active Transactions - Press button to go to the Search Results screen showing all the active (not Closed or Cancelled) transactions of the selected types that you created.

List All Mine of Selected Types - Press button to go to the Search Results screen showing all the transactions of the selected types that you created.

Search All HR Transactions - Press button to go to the Search screen to enter search criteria.

Edit Profile - Press button to go to the Profile screen to edit your profile.

Exit CHRIS - Press button to go to close all the open windows and exit the CHRIS system..

 

4. Logon Screen for Human Resources Staff (CHRIS-HR)

The Logon screen is still the same as it previously was, but now the database is not required to be entered. The Username and the Password are the only required entries.

Username - The Username for accessing the CHRIS-HR system.

Password - The Password associated with the Username used to access the CHRIS HR system.

Database - The Database is no longer an enterable field.

5. The CHRIS Main Menu for Human Resources Staff

Transactions I Must Review/Approve - Press button to go to the Search Results screen showing all the Transactions that you must review or approve for your UDDS. The list will also include any PDs that you created that are still in 'Draft' status. For CPO HR Specialists this list will be limited to any divisions they have as a UDDS in their CHRIS profile; these divisions should be the ones they are responsible for.

Transactions in Process- Press button to go to the Search Results screen showing all the Transactions that are in the process of being approved for your UDDS. Does not include any Transactions in 'Draft', 'Cancelled' or 'Closed' status.

Permanent/Project Applicant Processing - Press button to go to what formerly was the CHRIS Main Menu where applicants for permanent and project positions can be entered, selected, and viewed. Other CPO functions such as position vacancy validation or cancellation are also done from this menu.

Tran ID - Enter the Transaction ID that you would like to view or edit.

Edit HR Tran- Press button to go to the HR Transaction screen for the entered Transanction ID in Edit mode. You can only edit transactions for your unit that have not been approved at your level of authorization.

View HR Tran - Press button to go to the HR Transaction screen for the entered Transaction ID in View mode.

Search All HR Transactions - Press button to go to the Search screen to enter search criteria.

New Transaction - Press button to go to a new HR Transaction screen according to the HR Transaction Type selected.

Copy from Existing Transaction - Press button to go to the Search Results screen and allows you to find which existing Transaction you would like to copy. After the Transaction to copy is found, press the copy button on the Search Results screen to start the copy process.

Edit Profile - Press button to go to the Profile screen to edit your profile.

Exit CHRIS - Press button to go to close all the open windows and exit the CHRIS system.
