Candidates for Associate/Professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW SMPH guidelines for appointment and promotion.
Principal duties:
This is an exciting opportunity to inaugurate a new service for coordinated inpatient and outpatient care at The American Center (TAC). The holders of the positions described here will bring a new service to TAC, and establish a new base for the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. The physicians based at TAC will provide consultative and standard endoscopic services for inpatients at TAC in daytime hours from Monday to Friday. In addition they will provide outpatient services in both consultative gastroenterology and GI endoscopy, thereby enhancing our services to UW Health patients living in the areas adjacent to TAC. These physicians will also participate in the Divisions outreach endeavors, and will attend at the other locations such as the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Meriter Hospital, the UW Health Digestive Health Center. The appointed gastroenterologists will be fully integrated into the professional life of the Division. They will teach fellows, medical residents and students, share in call schedules as appropriate, attend weekly scholarly activities including GI grandrounds, journal clubs, QI/QA reviews. They will also have the opportunity to participate in clinical / translational research. Participation in clinical trials expected.
