Board eligible or board certified in pediatric general surgery. Appointment as associate professor (CT) or full professor (CT) will require that candidate's credentials meet criteria for rank established by UW School of Medicine and Public Health Guidelines.
Principal duties:
The Department of Surgery at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health is recruiting a fellowship-trained pediatric surgeon to join an active pediatric surgery practice with Gundersen Health System. The selected candidate will serve as the primary pediatric surgery provider at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI. UW Health has contracted with Gundersen Health System to provide pediatric surgeons and lead their Pediatric Surgery program. The selected candidate will assist in developing a robust pediatric surgery program within the Gundersen Health System market and in creating a statewide pediatric surgery program between the Gundersen Health System and UW Health.

The candidate must be board certified/board eligible in Pediatric Surgery. Rank will depend on candidate's interests and academic credentials. The selected candidate for this clinically oriented position will be responsible for providing a full spectrum of pediatric surgery services, including outpatient and inpatient consultations, elective surgical procedures, and unscheduled and emergency surgical procedures. This position will also be responsible for the management of surgical patients transferring to or from Gundersen Health System. The selected candidate may also be responsible for the training and education of medical students, general surgery residents, and fellows.
