Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Completion of U.S. pediatric residency and neonatology fellowship programs. Candidates for associate or full professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the tenure track.
Principal duties:
Position will have a majority of its focus on development/maintenance of an independent research program. The anticipation is that within the first three years of the position, extramural funding will be obtained to support 30-35% of the position's time.

Provide clinical care to level II and IV neonates at both the American Family Children's Hospital (AFCH) and Meriter Hospital. Provision of these services involves teaching to a variety of learners and includes oversight of neonatal nurse practitioners and/or neonatal hospitalists.

Some teaching may also be anticipated in small groups, lectures or classroom settings.

The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public and university service appropriate to the faculty rank.
