| Job Summary: | Under limited supervision, perform professional extramural support application and award duties necessary to apply for and administer funding from all levels of the Federal government, governmental agencies at the State and local level, for-profit and not-for-profit organizations and individual donors. Counsel faculty and staff in the application for, negotiation and administration of grants and contracts. Establish required administrative and accounting controls for awarded programs, and identify and enter into the SFS/PeopleSoft database and CALS databases all elements necessary for college information and management reports. Determine compliance with University, State, Federal, and Nonfederal rules, regulations, and clearances, and the interpretations thereof.
This position will coordinate grant and contract proposal and award activity, and establish required administrative and accounting controls for awarded programs. This position also provides faculty and staff support for a variety of critical administrative functions with the University of Wisconsin Madison and the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. The work requires a significant degree of interaction with more than 300 research staff, faculty, administrators, and students, and the ability to independently carry out assigned responsibilities.
Work is performed under limited supervision and reports to the Assistant Dean for Wisconsin Agricultural Experiment Station. This position requires fluency with office administrative skills (e.g., word processing, knowledge of various software programs, strong interpersonal skills, the ability to interface with diverse elements of the University environment, as well as with groups outside the University).
