A Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is
required.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Candidate for Associate and Full Professor will possess academic credentials to qualify for a
tenured faculty appointment at UW-Madison. The department is strongly committed to having a

Applications from all areas of information processing and communications will be
considered. Of particular interest (not in any ranked order) are: (i) Large-scale data analysis and
high-dimensional information processing; (ii) Machine learning and information theory; (iii)
Network science and wireless communications; (iv) Biological and medical signal
processing.
Principal duties:
Teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate courses; supervising graduate student research;
developing and directing a strong, funded research program; participating in departmental and
university faculty governance; and contributing to professional and public
service.
