Degree and area of specialization:
PhD or equivalent degree in Materials or a related field.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
2 years research experience; an outstanding reputation in the field of specialty.
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks
new faculty at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor levels. Distinguished candidates with
outstanding records of achievement will be considered for the Y. Austin Chang Chair in Materials
Science and Engineering. The new faculty will augment and enhance present departmental strenghths
in research and teaching. Areas of interest include but are not limited to advanced materials
(including biomaterials, ceramics, metals, polymers), materials processing, and phase
