Degree and area of specialization:
Board certified in anatomic pathology or AP/CP as well as neuropathology.
Eligible for unrestricted State of Wisconsin medical license. Licensure will be required for successful candidate.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Candidates will have a record of scholarly achievement appropriate to the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (tenure track). Candidates must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the tenure track.
The University of Wisconsin-Madison is recruiting for a tenure track neuropathologist. The candidate will be appointed in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine with 5/8ths funding available from the William S. Middleton Veteran's Administration Hospital (VA). Candidates must be board certified in anatomic pathology or AP/CP as well as neuropathology. Candidate must be qualified for unrestricted licensure for the practice of medicine in Wisconsin. Candidates will possess a record of scholarly achievement appropriate to the rank of Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (tenure track). The University of Wisconsin Medical Center is a tertiary care center with comprehensive programs in cancer and transplantation. Successful applicant will be expected to provide neuropathology clinical expertise in surgical pathology as well as autopsy pathology, contribute actively to the teaching of residents, fellows and medical students, mentor trainees, participate in continuing medical education programs and engage in scholarly research. In addition to performing routine service work, the individual will be expected to continue or develop a research program preferably in the area of neurobiology of Alzheimer's disease and to mentor graduate students. Due to the VA appointment, the successful candidate wil be eligible for VA merit review grant funding. The successful candidate will dedicate significant effort to the NIA-funded Wisconsin Alzheimer's Disease Research Center which provides numerous opportunities for collaboration. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience. University and community service is expected as appropriate.
