Principal duties:
The perinatologist will participate in departmental teaching programs for medical students and residents to include attending rounds, seminars and conferences. The individual will participate in departmental quality assurance efforts. The perinatologist will treat inpatients and outpatients. He/she will participate in Perinatal and Prenatal Clinical Services which include inpatient consultations, staffing and supervising the High Risk Obstetrical Clinics. The individual will participate in the Perinatal Assessment Center, which includes interpretation and performing routine and targeted sonography, interpretation of antenatal fetal surveillance tests, outpatient genetic consultations, and outpatient Maternal Fetal Medicine consultations. He/she will participate in perinatal consultation call schedules as well as occasional service coverage and in-house call needs. He/she will be involved in the labor and delivery services at Meriter Hospital. Research activities are available in high-risk pregnancy with three collaborators in the Research Lab. The incumbent would be expected to work with the residents and fellows on their research projects and would be expected to develop a clinical research program of their own.
