Degree and area of specialization:
Master's Degree required in economics, public policy or related field.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Experience in several of the following:
* training in conducting multiple regression
analyses;
* experience in data analysis and reporting;
* experience working with large data
sets and downloading all or part of large data sets to a remote location for analysis;
*
Training must be sufficient to understand:
(1) the interpretation and statistical properties of
various kinds of standardized assessments;
(2)systemic reform and its significance for data
analysis (required);
(3)various systems of accountability and the advantages and disadvantages
of such systems (preferred);
(4)constraints placed by politics on the feasibility of various
options for data analysis and
accountability.
Principal duties:
* Provide design leadership on data analysis and evaluation projects associated with Value-Added
Research Center efforts.
* Direct the econometric analysis.
* Analyze the district and state
data systems in collaboration with project directors to provide data system specifications
for
WCER and its research partners.
* Prepare reports for scholarly dissemination and as well
as those required by funding agencies.
* Present research findings at seminars.
* Develop
partner capacity for conducting "value added" analysis of student outcome
data.
