Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Applicant must be board certified or board eligible in diagnostic radiology. Fellowship training preferred. Expertise and interest in cardiothoracic imaging. Appointment at rank other than assistant professor will require that candidate meets criteria for tenure rank at UW-Madison. Additional, UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines apply for appointment at full professor rank.

Principal duties:

Depending on the faculty rank, the successful candidate will bring with him/her a strong, funded research program in cardiothoracic imaging, or will have credentials and interest in developing such a program at UW-Madison. In addition, the candidate will be expected to develop fruitful research collaborations across disciplines at UW-Madison.
Teaching assignments will focus on cardiothoracic imaging and will include medical student, resident, fellow and other department trainees as appropriate. Clinical duties will include clinical interpretation of chest radiographs, Cardiothoracic cross sectional imaging studies including CT and MR, as well as other cardiothoracic imaging modalities as they evolve. The ideal candidate will explore new applications of 2D/3D imaging as applied to the chest (e.g. cardiac imaging, vascular imaging, virtual bronchoscopy, parenchymal imaging). He or she will also perform image guided lung interventions including biopsies, drainages, and ablations.
Appointment at the senior level (rank of Associate Professor or Professor), could include a leadership role within the Department.
The successful candidate will participate in professional, public and university service appropriate to the faculty rank.
