Principal duties:
The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks
new faculty at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor levels. Distinguished candidates with
outstanding records of achievement will be considered for the Y. Austin Chang Chair in Materials
Science and Engineering. The new faculty will augment and enhance present departmental strengths
in research and teaching. Areas of interest include but are not limited to functional ceramics,
metals, or polymers, or materials for applications in electronics, energy, or
nanotechnology.
Successful candidates will be expected to have or develop an internationally
recognized research program, to demonstrate leadership in creative research, to attract extramural
funding, to be dedicated to excellence and innovation in both undergraduate and graduate education,
and to provide service to the
profession.
