Principal duties:

The Department of Geography at the University of Wisconsin-Madison seeks to hire a broadly-trained human geographer at the Assistant Professor level with a strong background and interest in contemporary and emerging forms of social theory. We will consider applicants with a wide range of research specializations, regional interests, theoretical perspectives, and methodological approaches. Interest in teaching courses in contemporary geographic thought, research methods, and other topics of interest for human and/or nature-society geography is especially welcome.

Duties include developing a strong program of research and publication, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses and actively contributing to our graduate programs in human geography. An ongoing research program is required, including supervision of graduate students. Position requires professional and community service as appropriate.
