PhD in Hispanic Linguistics or related field, but an ABD may be considered; required specialization in the linguistic analysis and description of Spanish, specifically the varieties spoken in Americas
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Evidence of outstanding teaching ability and research are essential.
Principal duties:
Teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, particularly phonetics and general linguistic analysis of Spanish for undergraduates, and a wide range or specialized courses for both MA and doctoral students. Perform research in area of interest. Perform service to the department and university as requested or needed.
Additional Information:
Special consideration will be given to candidates who can, in addition, offer any
combination of the following fields: theories of dialectology, language variation,
sociolinguistics or syntax.
Candidates should have native or near-native fluency in Spanish
and
English.
