Two years of experience conducting research on bifidobacteria.
Principal duties:
This position will be conducting research on stress responses in bifidobacteria. Specifically, resistance to acid and salt in Bifidobacterium animalis ssp. lactis and Bifidobacterium longum. Responsibilities will include establishing levels of intrinsic resistance to salt and acid, as well as, designing and conducting experiments to examine gene expresssion during induction of acid and salt tolerance responses. Candidates with experience using fermenters for the cultivation of bifidobacteria will be given preference.
