Degree and area of specialization:
MS in molecular biology and/or genetics or related field is required. PhD is a plus.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
A minimum of 2-3 years experience in molecular biology techniques including Western blotting,
culture, sequencing and PCR. Specific experience with stem cells is preferred. Excellent computer
experience with Excel and Word is
required.
Principal duties:
The Department of Surgery, Division of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, is looking for an individual that can be an active participant in research projects . The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in a research laboratory at a comprehensive and independent level. Specific skill sets include RNA, DNA extraction and amplification, PCR, Western Blot, cell culture, immunohistochemistry, ELISA. This individual will work closely with students and other researchers in different departments on a variety of exciting and challenging projects on the cutting edge of laryngology research. In addition, this individual will be required to perform lab management duties that will include supervision of personnel. This position may also assist in the development of grant applications and the preparation and presentation of research results.
