Degree and area of specialization:
Masters Degree in Business, Medical Management, Health Care Administration or related field.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Minimum of five years of progressively increasing professional administrative management experience
in an health care organization with demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, organizational,
communication and problem-solving skills and strong partnering skills with organizational leaders
and campus partners. Successful candidate will have proven record in fiscal management and
effective use of technology to meet business outcomes.
Previous experience in a college/student
health service
preferred.
Principal duties:
This position, in collaboration with other UHS Directors and the UHS Executive Director will
develop and manage administrative systems that support the UHS overarching mission of promoting
students¿ academic and personal success through an integrated model of clinical, counseling and
prevention activities and services. Under the general supervision of the UHS Executive Director,
the Director of Administrative Services has direct supervisory responsibility for an administrative
services staff of 42 FTE in six units including Budget and Finance, Human Resources, Health
Information Management, Custodial/Building Services, Information Technology and the Student Health
Insurance Plan. (60%)
Provides consultation and project management support in strategic
planning and new program development; achieves expected service outcomes consistent with
pre-determined measurable performance standards for quality, service, efficiency and effectiveness
for all programs and services; advances a healthy work environment and actively supports a diverse
work force; coordinates and monitors departmental capital and operating budgets.

Directs the activities that comprise the organization's risk management program,
assures compliance with standards and requirements of accrediting organizations and governmental
compliance, coordinates contracts and agreements for services with other campus departments and
outside organizations, oversees patient billing and provides oversight to the physical space and
related building management of UHS.
