License/certification:
Audiology license, ASHA certification, CCC-A of clinical competence, eligible for Wisconsin Audiology license and Hearing Aid Dealer and Fitters License.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
1-3 years of relevant clinical experience.
Principal duties:
The division of Otolaryngology is looking for a clinical audiologist. The incumbent will administer and interpret audiologic and vestibular test battery to inpatients and outpatients of all ages at UWHC; counsel patients and their families regarding test results and implications for communication; complete hearing aid evaluations, hearing and fittings, and dispensations, hearing aid follow-up performance evaluations with individual/family counseling; supervise and teach ENT residents on a monthly rotation in Audiology in conjunction with informal teaching provided on a daily basis and weekly informal medical student teaching and supervision/teaching of graduate Audiology students during semester rotation; provide expert advice to staff physicians, nurses, social workers, residents and to community resources outside the Department; complete and interpret standard Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) Testing to detect auditory tumors in adult patients; and provide professional expertise relating to research efforts in Audiology and provide acquisition, analysis and/or review of research data for resident and staff otolaryngologists. They will also perform Vestibular Electrophysical Myogenic Potential (VEMP) to diagnose such conditions as Meniere's disease, Multiple Schlerosis, Spinocerebellar degeneration and others; perform Videonystagmophraphy (VNG) with vision goggles and vision denied to assess dizziness, unsteadiness (vertigo) and/or other balance and coordination problems; administer and interpret rotary chair assessments; and supervise Audiology support staff. In addition, this individual will assist/provide pediatric cochlear implant evaluations during patient selection process and assist/provide services for programming of pediatric and/or adult patients.

Candidate must obtain Wisconsin licensure within 120 days of appointment date.
