Degree and area of specialization:

M.D., completion of U.S. pediatric residency and critical care medicine fellowship programs.

License/certification:

WI medical licensure. Board eligible or board certified in pediatric critical care medicine.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Completion of pediatric critical care medicine fellowship. Experience and interest in an academic clinical setting preferred. Candidates for appointment as Associate Professor (CHS) will demonstrate academic credentials for the title per established SMPH guidelines.

Principal duties:

60-70% time in the clinical care of pediatric critical care patients. This entails coverage of the pediatric intensive care unit, the sedation clinic and call in an appropriate share with the other division members. It may occasionally require coverage of transports of critically ill children, either by ambulance or helicopter.

10-20% time in teaching activities to medical students, residents, fellows and/or other learners. This will frequently occur within the clinical setting, but will also include more formal teaching.

10% time in administrative activities related to coordination of the division's teaching activities.
