Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelor's degree in apparel-related design required; MFA preferred. Knowledge of U4ia and/or Illustrator software also preferred.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
1 year college/university teaching or equivalent required.
Principal duties:
Individual will teach DS 210, Fashion Illustration, during the spring semester of 2009.
Instruct students in the visual communication of apparel design concepts. Focuses on
drawing and otherwise representing the fashion figure, with the emphasis on the relationship of
figure, garment, fabric, texture, and pattern. May work with U4ia and Illustrator software to
produce computer-generated illustrations.
Instructor will conduct studio activities, set
assignments, and grade student projects. Must be available to consult with students through office
hours and by appointment.
