Degree and area of specialization:
Bachelor's in Communications, Computer Science, or related
field.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Three years full-time equivalent job-related experience; proficiency in the Microsoft Windows
environment; experience in developing and maintaining large-scale Web sites and applications;
Demonstrated success in developing Web sites with a high degree of usability; highly developed
problem-solving skills; Commitment to W3C Web standards and Section 508 compliance; excellent
interpersonal communication skills; excellent organizational skills; ability to work independently
and in a team environment; high commitment to quality customer service through competence, care and
patience.
Strong knowledge of CSS and standards-based Web design practices; Proficiency Web
development software (Visual Studio, Dreamweaver); Experience with Web server technologies, (IIS
and Apache); Programming experience in the .NET framework (C# or VB.NET), ASP 3.0, PHP, Javascript,
Flash/Actionscript, Transact-SQL; MS SQL Databases; strong knowledge of emerging trends in Web
design and
development.
Principal duties:
Our Web presence is an essential component of our marketing efforts at the School of Business. This
position will work with faculty and senior academic staff to develop and maintain Web sites and
applications to market the School of Business and Executive Education to external constituencies --
prospective students, parents, alumni, peer institutions and their faculty. This position will also
work with faculty and staff to develop applications to manage content and data
effectively.

of web technologies to market their program, center or unit
> Consult with faculty and
senior academic staff on the appropriate use of the School of Business visual identity

Consult with faculty and senior academic staff on best practices to create highly usable and
effective user experiences
> Consult with the School of Business Database Administrator,
faculty and senior academic staff on the most effective strategies for collecting, managing and
reporting user data.
> Monitor emerging trends in Web design, development and
administration for implementation into the School of Business site
> Work with faculty and
senior academic staff to develop intranet sites and applications to support current student
relations and internal projects
> Develop appropriate instructions and documentation

Report to the Associate Dean of Marketing Services
> Coordinate with the
Webmaster
> Coordinate with the Technology Support
