Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years experience communicating with audiences through written and visual media. Experience in adult education and curriculum development preferred. Experience in organizing, publicizing, and coordinating education activities or professional meetings for groups. Experience in distance education and evidence of scholarship with major contributions to lifelong learning highly desireable.
Principal duties:
Develop innovative outreach education. Initiate, coordinate, publicize and evaluate educational activities for professional nurses, health services professionals, and the public. Facilitate faculty planning in providing continuing education programs and outreach activities in the nursing profession. Develop partnerships with professional organizations in the nursing and health service professions. Contribute to leadership in continuing education and outreach. Serve on appropriate School of Nursing committees. Responsible for ensuring program offerings generate sufficient revenue.
