Degree and area of specialization:

Master's degree required, in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, related field or equivalent work experience.

Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:

Experience with biostatistical testing and presentation of results. Comfort with SAS programming including data manipulation and analyses. Recent graduates encouraged to apply

Principal duties:

The position entails biostatistical support for widely respected epidemiologic studies of age-related eye diseases and of diabetes. The position requires knowledge of statistical methods and tests, especially related to longitudinal cohort studies and mixed models, and comfort working with the SAS statistical package. The position requires working directly with other statisticians in the group as well as programmers, data managers, study coordinators and project investigators. Tasks will relate to analyses of previously collected data, including manuscript and scientific report preparation and collaboration with other investigators using the data. Involvement in study development, quality control and data management will be required as new data are collected. The incumbent will be directly involved in grant preparation and submission. There are many opportunities for presenting research results, exploration of novel statistical analyses and to be involved in many research projects and analyses.
