MD or DO Degree, BC/BE in Ophthalmology or Neurology; neuro-ophthalmology fellowship training
License/certification:
Wisconsin Medical License
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology and/or
Neurology
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Residency training in Ophthalmology or Neurology followed by Neuro-ophthalmology
fellowship.
Relevant experience in clinical practice. Interest in medical student and resident
education.
Rank will depend on candidate's interests and academic credentials. Appointment
as Assistant, Associate Professor (CHS) or Professor (CHS) will require that the candidate's
credentials meet criteria for rank per established UW School of Medicine and Public Health
guidelines.
Principal duties:
The Neuro-Ophthalmologist position involves patient care, teaching, and research.
Teaching
activities will include medical students, residents, fellows, and continuing medical education in
the area of comprehensive and neurological ophthalmology.
Clinical activities include
patient care at a variety of University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics and UW Health
locations.
Research activities may include participation in clinical trials and/or
translational
research.
Additional Information:
A 1-2 year guaranteed salary of $160,000 to $180,000 is negotiable dependent on academic rank and years of experience. The University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation will provide the clinical practice supplement to the UW School of Medicine and Public Health base salary
