Degree and area of specialization:
Masters in Speech Language Pathology with specialization in the area of Voice
License/certification:
Certificate in Clinical Competence from American Speech Language and Hearing Association and Wisconsin State Licensure in Speech Language Pathology.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Minimum of three years of work experience in the area of speech language pathology in a medical setting with emphasis on assessment and treatment of voice and swallowing. Previous experience with voice assessment and treatment of all ages. Expertise in videostroboscopy and flexible endoscope required. Clinical experience laryngectomy (TEP), cleft palate and other craniofacial anomalies is a plus.
Principal duties:
The Department of Surgery, Division of Otolaryngology (Speech Pathology) is looking to hire a
Clinical Speech Language Pathologist that specializes in Voice. In this position the incumbent
will provide diagnostic and treatment services to individuals with voice disorders, work with
current speech pathologists in developing new programs for voice, assist in the coordination of
learning experiences for residents, medical students and speech pathology interns, and help
administer clinical services. The successful candidate will contribute to the department in a
variety of ways including participation in research, assume administrative responsibilities, and
foster development of interdisciplinary programs.
