Must have PhD or research fellowship training. Expectation of NIH funded continuing and future projects. Must meet criteria for tenure at UW-Madison.
Principal duties:
Transfer, develop and maintain an independent, extramurally funded and self-supporting research program. Expectation to provide one or two days per week of clinical work at the UW Hospital and Clinics operating rooms and other anesthesia sites with full faculty on-call load. The targeted candidate's primary focus will be neuroscience, with a strong research interest in pain or neuroplasticity as it relates to anesthesia and analgesia. Instruct medical students, residents, fellows in anesthesiology in clinical care and research, and graduate students in basic science research area. Potential leadership role within the department. Participate in faculty governance and service activities in the department, school, and university.
