Degree and area of specialization:
M.D., completion of U.S. pediatric residency program.
License/certification:
WI medical licensure, board certified in pediatrics.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Minimum of 7 years experience in clinical practice in general pediatrics (training and practice in
adolescent medicine is preferable). Candidate will have an established research interest,
preferably an active, funded program. Strong consideration will be given to candidates with
managerial and administrative experience as this position will be division chief in the
department's largest division, general pediatrics and adolescent medicine, with 32 faculty (25.7
FTEs).
Preferred candidates will have academic-based experience and have a strong interest
in academic mentoring of junior faculty in the division. Candidates will have scholarly credentials
to merit tenure at the University of
Wisconsin-Madison.
Principal duties:
50% time spent in administration of the division of general pediatrics and adolescent medicine,
with 32 faculty practicing at 9 clinical sites and three hospitals
30% time in
research
20% time in clinical care and teaching activities, and in service activities
appropriate to the faculty
rank.
