Rank will depend on candidate's interests and academic credentials.Appointment as associate professor (CHS) will require that candidate's credentials meet criteria for rank per established School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines.

Principal duties:

The Department of Surgery at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking candidates for a full-time Pediatric Surgeon. The successful applicant must have a strong interest in clinical practice and a demonstrated interest in research, education, and training. The successful applicant will have an active role in the training and education of medical students, residents and fellows as they will participate in the Department's Patient Doctor and Society Course, 3rd year medical student lecture series, YEPSA, and summer research opportunities. The candidate will oversee medical students, general surgery residents, and other allied health professionals in OR , Clinic and on inpatient units. A goal of the Division will be to increase the pediatric general surgery practice through referrals from the region and state. It will be expected that the program will be marketed and the new recruit will give presentations at various hospitals and medical centers throughout the state. University and public service will be expected as appropriate.
