MD/DO; Board Certified/Eligible in applicant's primary area of training (e.g., Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesiology or Neurology) and certification in Critical Care Medicine.
License/certification:
Eligible for medical license in Wisconsin; Certification in Critical Care Medicine
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Five years' clinical practice and experience in a multi-disciplinary critical care environment. Candidates for appointment at the rank of Associate Professor (CHS) will possess documentable credentials for rank as specified in SMPH guidelines for appointment and promotion.
Principal duties:
The eICU provides 24/7 service to remote critical care locations.
The eICU program
restructures the practice of critical care by centralizing competencies which may be difficult to
recruit and retain in community/outreach locations. The addition of virtual critical care
specialists allows for immediate assistance to bedside clinicians. The Director of the eICU will be
responsible for providing leadership of this new service. This position will include
administrative responsibilities, clinical responsibilities in the eICU and TLC, as well as clinical
teaching roles. Collaborative research will be
encouraged.
