Degree and area of specialization:
Ph.D. in Pharmacy or related field, or Ph.D./Ed.D. in Education or related field.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
Minimum 1-3 years of experience in current experience in developing and delivering continuing education to pharmacists, other health care professionals and/or pharmaceutical scientists; current experience with mediated learning technologies, particularly web-based, as applied to continuing education; success in obtaining educational grant funds from both private and public sources in support of continuing education; knowledge of and experience with current accreditation guidelines to include both ACPE and ACCME; and demonstrated record of scholarly activity.
Principal duties:
Primary responsibilities include: educational needs assessment, planning, development, marketing, administration, implementation, evaluation and quality assurance of outreach programs. Instructional program activities are targeted separately to pharmacists throughout the US and pharmaceutical industry employees and other health professionals worldwide. Program development will include ongoing activities as well as the expectation to develop new instructional programs for both pharmacist and/or industry audiences including distance technology and the use of multimedia applications for coursework. Activities in grant writing and adult educational scholarly pursuits are expected. Responsibilties may include supervision of graduate degree students. University and community service will be expected as appropriate.
